The purpose of my work is to explore the boundaries that exist in society in various ways, using the iron material as a foothold.
In recent years, I mainly create these two series.
“Anonymous” series – which is a rocking iron sculpture of people and weapons with a criminal history have been 3D-scanned and replaced by detailed iron wire ensemble, which has the conflicting elements of iron’s robust and strong materiality and visual and virtual interference fringe effect.
“Iron Oxide Painting” series – An iron-mimicking painting that created a relief-like motif using a unique painting material in which iron oxide crushed to an appropriate grain size was added to the medium, and gave a red rust texture and solid feeling that could be mistaken for iron itself.
Presented works at solo exhibitions, group exhibitions, and art fairs in Japan and overseas.
