Description

Chinese artist Yu Cun, based in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. He graduated from the Department of Arts and Crafts, Nanjing University of the Arts in 1982 and received a bachelor’s degree, and has been painting continuously since then. His work has been particularly well received by Chinese art professionals, and he has exhibited in many exhibitions at museums and galleries.
He advocates the artistic qualities that human beings originally have, returns to the natural appearance of human beings, and attempts free creative activities that are not disturbed by anyone. His paintings are so unique that he is not trapped in the square frame of the painting.
At first glance, his work is weak, with humor that oozes from his own cheerful personality, as well as the critical spirit that arises from observing the world with a calm eye. He uses oil paintings as a means of expression to convey his unique value judgement, and he is constantly experimenting to bring new developments to traditional Chinese literati paintings.
